How do you seek the Christ?
Remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; ... a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall." (Helaman 5:12, The Book of Mormon)

Through the temple, we can make special promises to strengthen our foundation on Jesus Christ. What do you do to strengthen your foundation on Christ?
Through the Priesthood, God has prepared the means by which all of His children may be blessed and eventually inherit eternal life. Always must we be thankful to our Father in Heaven for restoring this power to the earth.

What's one word you'd use to describe Jesus Christ?
Did you know that the Lord Jesus Christ is not only the Savior, but that He is also your brother?

Jesus is the literal Son of God, and we are all God's spirit children. Jesus Christ loves each and every one of us because we are all part of one greater family. Because of this great love, He was willing to lay down His life for us just so we could be given the opportunity to return to our Father in Heaven.

As part of laying down His life, the Savior made an everlasting sacrifice for us that allowed Him to understand all of our pains and sadnesses. Because He understands our trials, He knows how to provide with the comfort we need, and He gives it to us through His boundless power.

After all, it was Jesus who said, "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you."

How have you seen God's hand or the love of Jesus in your life?

We hope to bring more light and joy to others around us through the words and example of Jesus Christ! "If you want to give a light to others, you have to glow yourself."

After all we can do

I had been in that hole for a very long time—

In the dark, the damp, in the cold, and the slime.

The shaft was above me; I saw it quite clear, But there’s no way I could ever reach it from here.

I could not remember the world way up there, So I lost every hope and gave in to despair.

I knew nothing but darkness, the floor, and the wall. Then from off in the distance I heard someone call:

“Get up! Get ready! There’s nothing the matter! Take rocks and take sticks and build up a fine ladder!”

This was a thought that had not crossed my mind, But I started to stack all the stones I could find.

When I ran out of stones, then old sticks were my goal, for some way or another I’d climb from that hole.

I soon had a ladder that stood very tall, And I thought, “I’ll soon leave this place once and for all!”

I climbed up my ladder, a difficult chore,

For lifting those boulders, my shoulders were sore.

I climbed up the ladder, but soon had to stop, for my ladder stopped short, some ten feet from the top.

I went back down my ladder and felt all around, But there were no more boulders nor sticks to be found.

I sat down in the darkness and started to cry.

I’d done all I could do and I gave my best try.

But in spite of my work, in this hole I must die. And all I could do was to sit and think, “Why?”

Was my ladder too short? Was my hole much too deep? Then from way up on high came a voice: “Do not weep.”

And then faith, hope, and love entered into my chest As the voice calmly told me that I'd done my best.

He said, “You have worked hard, and your labor’s been rough, But the ladder you’ve built is at last tall enough.

So do not despair; there is reason to hope, Just climb up your ladder; I’ll throw down my rope.”

I climbed up my ladder, then climbed up the cord. When I got to the top of it, there stood the Lord.

I’ve never been happier; my struggle was done. I blinked in the brightness that came from Gods Son.

I fell to the ground as His feet I did kiss.

I cried, “Lord, can I ever repay Thee for this?”

He looked all about. There were holes in the ground. They had people inside, and were seen all around.

There were thousands of holes that were damp, dark and deep.

Then the Lord looked at me, and He said, “feed my sheep,”

And he went on his way to save other lost souls, So I got right to work, calling down to the holes,

“Get up! Get ready! There is nothing the matter! Take rocks, and take sticks, and build up a fine ladder!”

It now was my calling to spread the good word, The most glorious message that man ever heard:

That there’s one who is coming to save one and all, And we need to be ready when he gives the call.

He’ll pull us all out of the holes that we’re in And save all our souls from cold death and from sin.

So do not lose faith; there is reason to hope: Just climb up your ladder; he’ll throw down his rope.

How has Christ given you hope?

Did you know that the Church has an official statement about the importance of families?

In 1995, a modern prophet read what is now known as "The Family- A Proclamation to the World". This document is important because it helps us recognize the value of holding ourselves to high standards, and how God has instructed us to build righteous families.

"All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny."

"The family is ordained of God...Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities."

We know that our Father in Heaven has given us families so that we can find lasting happiness in this life and also great joy in the life to come.

"I love my Savior Jesus Christ! He went through unimaginable suffering for me and for you! To be able to use his grace in my life has brought me so much hope. I know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ was needed and I am so grateful for it. Because Christ suffered I will never have to feel alone! He loves each of us!"

You always hear that the Book of Mormon is comparable to the Bible, but how is this true?

The Book of Mormon is a record of an ancient people from Jerusalem and God's dealings with them as He leads them to a land of promise. There, the Lord guides them to build up a righteous nation unto Himself. This record begins 600 years before Christ's birth, around the time of the Old-Testament prophet Jeremiah. The Book of Mormon is unique because it shows us that we have records containing prophecies and teachings about the Savior given to two different peoples on opposite sides of world, part of which were even given in the same period of time!

The more one reads the Book of Mormon, the more they realize that it is not meant to replace or compete with the Bible. But rather, it is another witness to the truth of the same great story, the story of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the many great things He has done for us. These marvelous books are meant to be read in symphony, as together they more fully illustrate the grand picture of our Savior and His infinite majesty.

What is your favorite teaching of Jesus Christ?
