The USAG Bavaria communities have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic for the last year. The long-lasting restrictions enacted by our Host Nation’s government have put limitations on individuals’ sense of autonomy and have challenged our Soldiers, Families, and civilians' resiliency. However, as COVID-19 restrictions loosen and lift, USAG Bavaria can begin to strengthen community cohesiveness safely.

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines wellness as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity.” The vision for the Community Health and Wellness Fair is based on this definition and the holistic 8 dimensions of wellness (emotional/mental, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, and spiritual). By taking a cohesive community approach to prioritizing the wellness of individuals, we also prioritize the wellness of our entire community.

The goals of the 1st Annual Community Health and Wellness Fair are to (1) provide a place to welcome new members to our USAG Bavaria communities, (2) serve as a vessel to provide information on a variety of healthy lifestyle choices, (3) provide an opportunity for interactive and family-oriented fun.

Our Hohenfels Religious Support Office (RSO) and its auxiliaries such as PWOC, AWANA Club, and Club Beyond participated in this great community event to help this Hohenfels Community and the soldiers and their family members prioritize the health and wellness in their life and pursue a better life.

A delightful Christmas story about a German grandmother (Oma) who uses the lighting of the 4 Advent candles and the story of baby Jesus to teach her grandson the real meaning of Christmas.

Thank you to one of our PWOC members, Jennifer Kemp for organizing the children's choir for this past Sunday Easter service. For those of you who may not know, Chaplain Kemp and his family arrived in Hohenfels back in January of this year. His family has already impacted our Hohenfels Community in so many ways. A big thank you to the Kemp family!

I hope you all enjoyed our Easter program this Tuesday and learned something new about the women you sat with through our jelly bean game!

A few verses that come to my mind during the Christmas and Easter season, especially as a mom, is Deuteronomy 11: 18-19 "Imprint these words of mine on your hearts and minds, bind them as a sign on your hands, and let them be a symbol on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."

God is telling us, DON'T FORGET ME, don't let this world distract you from the one who made it! It's so easy to lose sight and we're all guilty and I know that is true of myself! So let us encourage one another and truly let God's words change our hearts and be moved to celebrate Him in all our seasons because he is SO worthy! Let us teach our children and community about who He is through our words and actions. The way we live our lives should point people to the Gospel. It is not the Father's will that anyone should perish, yes even those people we think are unworthy or beyond saving. I am proof that anyone can be redeemed by Christ!

It was nice hearing our PWOC President Mandy speak to us about SIN yesterday, she reminded us to examine ourselves (Deuteronomy 8:14 NIV.) She also reflected her last 3 years in Hohenfels and how the positions she has filled in PWOC have allowed her to grow more in Christ and step out of her comfort zone. 💒💙

The Bible study Colossians had S.O.S this week and it was amazing, especially Chevon’s “Broccoli Bacon Salad.” 🥦🥓🥗

Our Homeschool room ended up going outside for a walk and enjoying the nice weather we have been getting lately. Thank you, Celeste and Leslie! ☀️🚶‍♀️🚶

Lesley and Mandy also delivered cookies 🍪 after PWOC yesterday to the single soldiers in 1-4. Thank you to all of the ladies who brought cookies in for this month’s outreach.

There will be no PWOC next week due to us going on 🌸🌿>> SPRING BREAK

The Easter Egg Hunt is coming soon. We need lots of helpinng hands for set up. We need 6 more volunteers for set up. Teenagers can help what an awesome way to get those volunteer hours. We need 3 game volunteers that can volunteer from 12:20-1:20. We need about 2-3 greeters. We need two more face painters. We also need helping hands to help the Easter Bunny hide eggs. If you would like to help comment here and let us know how you can help. Remember this is a great outreach for the community.

Come join us this Wednesday as we hike down to the town of Hohenfels. Our starting point will be in Grossbissendorf, a pin to the parking location will be posted in our PWOC FB group. Not only are these hikes good to get a little exercise in, but they allow us to get more one on one time with each other aside from our regular Tuesday get togethers. You do not have to be a part of PWOC to attend. He hope to see you all there !
